Death is never really the end

My father passed away in the early hours of 6th Nov.'13. He completed all his responsibilities well. And thus, he died in peace.
As my brother & I collected the ashes, I was reminded of the line-From dust we come, to dust we go...
I have no complaints. He was in coma after the Cardiac Arrest/ Heart Attack on 20th Oct.'13. But one day, as I stood speaking to him, I noticed that his eyes were slightly open. I looked forward for his recovery then on. I so much wanted to know what he saw after he passed out of consciousness following the stroke. One hears so many stories in this regard. Whatever. Silly of me I guess!
The much hurting 'Organ Donation' doesn't upset us now. During his lifetime, he donated blood regularly, in an earnest manner.
He is no more. And yet his voice rings in my ears. I strongly believe that his positive nature, too, will continue to be there in me & others in the family.
And so what the great Thinkers always say is probably right, Death is never really the end...

Chhapra, Bihar mid-day meal tragedy

4checks- 125 x 125 - 2 boxes of checks for the price of 1 Static Banner23 children dying due to presence of pesticide in oil. The headmistress of the school should be hanged to death along with her grocer husband. And yet that will not be enough!
It's bad, bad & just bad. To top it, the politicians are making the most of it.

Saddest Day For India. Death of Jagjit Singh. Stay Order on Ajmal Kasab's Death.

www.ndtv.com

Death of Jagjit Singh and Life giving to Ajmal Kasab—truly a cruel joke!

Singer Jagjit Singh’ Death. It’s difficult to imagine that this velvety voice will not sing any new songs. Remember,” Honto se chulo tum…”or his duet with Chitra Singh, “Yeh tera ghar, yeh mera Ghar…” or the famous song from Sarfarosh, “Hosh walon ko khabar kya…”
Jagjit Singh’s voice was beautiful, beautiful & beautiful. India will miss him for sure.

Stay on Ajmal kasab’s death. To think that this stay order could come from the Supreme Court of India! It’s a real shame. Nothing could be crueler than this. So many innocent lives were lost on Nov.26, 2008 in the Terror Attack in Mumbai. The stay order puts a big question mark on the caliber of our judiciary.
I know it is dangerous to say and could even tantamount to giving ideas. But has India forgotten the sordid 1999 Indian Airlines Plane hijacking? Oh, God, when will our judiciary wake up and become wise!

Sad Demise - Azmal & Ayazuddin

Truly very sad.The cricket world has suffered a great loss.
This is not what any parents deserve! I think we need to bring some social pressure on people in this regard. High speeding has to be discouraged.
We could start with lessons on hazards of reckless driving in schools. Also, ads positioned on speed and thrill should be called off or penalized. It would be desirable if manufacturing companies of these vehicles imprinted Statutory Warnings on Speedometers.
Really, high speeding & reckless driving need to be checked.

Media Very Unfair to Navin Nischol!

4checks- 125 x 125 - 2 boxes of checks for the price of 1 Static Banner   I was in 6 or 7th class when I saw Sawan Bhadon. Rather, it was on my insistence that my parents took me for the movie. It so happened that in one of the magazines, it was mentioned that a promising young man from FTII with a Gold Medal in acting was making a debut in a movie called Sawan Bhadon opposite altogether a new heroine, Rekha. In those days going for a movie was itself a big thing. Yes, I liked the songs and the usual family drama that ensued.
Later, I happened to see 'Parwana' on TV, where Navin Nischol was the hero and Amitabh Bachchan, a villain, who kills somebody in the movie. Somehow I guess, luck did not favor the actor and he went into oblivion.
But I think God makes sure that you get your dues in life! And so one fine day,  Navin Nischol came back with a bang in the movie 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'. A superb movie that brought home the point that the actor had not won a Gold Medal for nothing! Oh! It was a real treat to watch both him and Anupam Kher together. In fact, I still watch it every time it comes on TV. I really thought that the bad days were over for Navin Nischol and that, we would get to see more of his talent in the coming years. But that was not to be!
It is really sad that the great actor passed away so suddenly. Worse still, that that the media did not cover his death properly. While so much was said about the Hollywood actress even in Hindi newspapers, Navin Nischol's death was just given a small space. Not fair! Not fair at all!

Mangalore Plane Crash

The Mangalore Plane Crash has left everybody shocked. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
It is a sad happening. Words seem very hollow and meaningless. Loss is a loss. And no one can really fill the void- a truth I have come to understand over the years.

Death is either a God's decree or human error. But why do so many people have to die all at once? Maybe in years to come the authorities will be able to further improve their security measures. Let's hope. And certainly, Hope is a beautiful 4-letter word.
