I saw a fiery debate on Afzal Guru on one of the Indian channels today. It was distressing to hear Mr. Ram Jethmalani saying that Afzal Guru should not be hanged and that the most apt punishment would be to have him suffer a life imprisonment. I wish to ask him just one question-
"Sir, can we afford to have a repeat drama of 1999 plane hijacking to Kandahar and subsequent release of terrorists such as Maulana Masood Azhar?
I think, in India, we have had enough of Dharmaraj's i.e. Yudhishthir's. We have also lost many lives to terrorism and now let's get down to some serious business. I fully agree with BJP Spokesman, Mr. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in this regard. The death sentence to Afzal Guru and Kasab should be carried out at the earliest.
